Anglesey Abbey first became a family home in 1600 when it was purchased by Thomas Hobson, who converted the abbey into a country house. A few structural features were saved from the original priory, including walls to the left and right of the main entrance, a few external arches and the monk’s parlor, which was converted into a dining room.
